How to Plan a Costa Blanca Holiday

How to Plan a Costa Blanca Holiday

When to go?

High season (July–August): Guaranteed sun, but crowds and higher prices. Ideal for beach holidays. Mid season (April–June, September–October): Best value – warm, fewer people, reasonable prices. Low season (November–March): Quiet, cheap, 15–20°C. Great for sightseeing and walks. Some attractions closed.

Book in advance

Flights: 2–3 months ahead – best prices. Apartment: 1–2 months ahead in season, a week before off-season. Car: In season book earlier – limited availability.

What to pack

Passport/ID, payment cards, travel insurance. Clothes: light, breathable, sunscreen (essential!), hat, sunglasses. Plug adapter (EU – Spain uses standard sockets). Medication – pharmacies exist, but bring your regular meds from home.

Choosing an apartment

Check location – distance to beach, shops, transport. Read reviews. Confirm what's included – AC, WiFi, cleaning. Contact the host before booking – questions about parking, check-in, pets.

First day

Book transfer or car hire. Do supermarket run – water, basics. Familiarise with apartment – spare keys, how AC works. Save host's contact number.
